Established by Shawn David Brown in 2002, Vessel Studio is a multi-disciplinary architecture and design practice specializing in contemporary, environmentally sensitive design solutions centered around the client and their passion for innovation and creativity. Although focused primarily on custom residential design, Vessel Studio has also completed work in the public, corporate and retail sectors as well.

Current and past architectural projects include a new 2400sf residence in Lake Tahoe, Ca; an 1800sf addition/renovation in Paoli, Pa; a NYC Loft renovation; and an interior renovation in Avalon, NJ as well as several experiments researching new strategies in Urban Design, 3D rapid prototyping and sustainable design. In addition, Vessel Studio has recently expanded into exhibition and graphic design, working in Seoul, New York and Miami in association with NY Projects, LLC.

Shawn David Brown graduated from Virginia Tech in 1997 and Cornell University in 2005. He has worked for numerous prestigious architecture firms in New York and San Francisco where he has led design projects from conception to completion. Most recently, while at SPG Architects, he lead the team that won the International Bamboo Design competition for Best Single Family Home and his work has been published in countless periodicals and books including Digital Architecture, Interior Design, City Magazine, Trends and Frame. In addition to Vessel Studio, Shawn has also taught Architectural Design courses at Carnegie Mellon University and Cornell University.

Shawn is a registered architect in the state of New York.
